Lean Manufacturing

The core idea of the lean methodology is to maximize customer value while eliminating waste. In other words, delivering more value for the customer with fewer resources.

Lean provides a range of tools aimed at identifying and reducing the eight wastes or muda: non adding value activities such as defects, overproduction, waiting, non-utilized talent, transportation, inventory, motion and extra-processing.

In lean culture, people are central. Lean should be encouraged from management level and sought all employees’ participation. This implies full information sharing and training: a well- trained staff recognizes waste and works for its reduction
